Now my question is can I Root with the European version for Example (United Kingdom ) version ?

Each specific firmware build can be rooted by injecting a root kernel image. You can find some ways of rooting method at XDA-Developer or look for Chainfire's CF-Root.

My baseband version : I9300XXLF5 (4.0.4)

I don't live in Luxembourg and i want to flash the UK stock rom. Will there be any problems with my phone?
No! UK stock ROM are compatible to all Europe Galaxy SIII since its all the same.
ReplyDeleteHelp me Please... I have a galaxy s3 US SGH-1747. Att&t I have to make it Arabic compatible like the Middle east region firmwares come stock. I would like a way with the right steps to make this possible. Help me out plz
ReplyDeleteYou may need to find an Arabic language input apk file and install it. Middle East stock ROM is GT-I9300 and so Europe and other Regions it cannot be used with U.S. SGH-I747 for it has a different hardware specification. You may end up bricking your device if you try to.

Yes, just remember the APN settings, you will need to reconfigure that after flashing to get rid of data connection issues.
ReplyDeleteThank you i flashed and it worked like a charm i did manual APN settings and it is working fine

HI, I have a samsung galaxy 3 with I9300XXALF2 _OPS Australia. I use Vodafone can i flash it with I9300TDUALF2_TVA. or does it have to be XXA and not TDUA. Thanks
ReplyDelete@kerri, if your phone is unlocked, you can use all Australian Firmware build it all works fine. The only outcome happens is that you also get the default settings like apps and logos of that particular network provider.
ReplyDeleteQ1. i have a 3 mobile branded firmware in my SGS3. i want to get rid of it and install original nordic unbranded firmware. will it in ANY way affect my phone by not receiving certain updates and mismatching my imei and other codes in the phone?
ReplyDeleteQ2. do i need to root the phone to install this new nordic region firmware? my phone is in stock mode. can i just put the rom onto this via odin or is root necessary before reflashing new stock rom?
thx 4 the help in advance
Hi Alen,
ReplyDeleteA1: it will work.. but a conflict between you and 3 mobile like warranty and other services will be an issue here.
Your IMEI will never be touch but the CSC (Country Specific Code) change. Then you can not get any updates from 3 mobile firmware via Kies or OTA... but you can update with the Nordic unbranded firmware either using Odin again if Kies won't let you.
A2: No need to root, stock ROM removes root.
here's a FAQ about installing stock ROM.
oh, i think we missunderstood eachother. i'm on stock rom now, no root. but do i need to root the phone to be able to install the other unbranded stock rom that i want to have on my phone?
ReplyDeleteThere's no need to root the phone if you install odin flashable stock ROM.
ReplyDeleteRooting = You only need to root if you want to install 3rd party application that you can find on Google playstore, thats how rooting is being used.
oh damn... did a cf root, flashed the original unbranded rom ... made a factory reset after flashing... now kies notifies me that i cannot receive updates via kies... csc is correct.. why ?
ReplyDeletei've sorted it out ... thx 4 ur help

I flashed the Vodafone Australia rom over onto my unbranded Australian S3. The device product code changed from GT-I9300RWJXSA to GT-I9300RWJVAU.
ReplyDeleteNow, I have flashed back to the XSA firmware. The CSC shows I9300XSALF2 but the product code still shows GT-I9300RWJVAU.
Does anyone know how I can get my product code back to GT-I9300RWJXSA?
Will this stop me getting firmware updates until Vodafone Australia released their version of the firmware?
I am not sure if the product code was change during flashing.
ReplyDeleteYou can still update, since you already know about flashing, you should not bother with Kies.

ReplyDeleteYou don't need any ROM all you need is to unlock it, because it can only be used inside U.S.A under AT&T network. Only then you can use any SIM card on your Galaxy S3 US SGH-1747.
ReplyDeleteWhat was the problem, I'm having the same issue...
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI currently live in France but will be traveling to the USA where I hope to pick up an unlocked version of the Samsung Galaxy SIII. My question is that when I come back to France with the unlocked phone, will it just be a matter of inserting a local SIM card or will I have to install a ROM as well to get it working.
Thanks in advance
ROM isn't necessary, unlocking is to - free from network operators and ROM for device performance.
ReplyDeleteHi ! Three days ago I uptaded my Galaxy S3 GT I9300... with a official update from samsung. It's interface changed a little bit, but the problem is that it's asking for SIM CODE UNLock ... so my questions are :
ReplyDeleteWill my current operators (Vodafone Italy) give me that code? do they posses such a code?
If I'll reset my ROM by instaling the Original Samsung Galaxy S3 firmware will this problem with the code disapear by itself?
Is it safe to do this restoring ? I mean I would like to do it , but I'm affraid of damaging or blocking my phone ... thx waiting for your replyies and comments
My phone will not allow me to INPUT a unlock code. I tried entering #7465625*638*#, but nothing happens. When I insert a unknown SIM card a PAD LOCK appears, but doesn't allow me to enter the unlock code, which I have.
ReplyDeleteAny suggestions?
Forgot to mention: I have the GT-I9300, which I bought in Puerto Rico (provider is CLARO).
ReplyDeleteI need a stock version of mtn south africa , installed a jellybean rom and lost most apps like s voice, how do I get a stock rom back with the original apps
ReplyDeleteMy CSC is I9300OJVBLH1. So where is this phone made. When will i get jelly bean update. Please help me.
ReplyDeleteHi i have an samsung gt-i9300 on jellybean 4.1.2
ReplyDeleteWith custom rom foxhound rising 2.0 im just wondering since i live in new zealand which stock rom should i be installing if i need to get ota updates for future android firmwares.
My phone says csc is ITV and its on xxema2.
This puzzles me because i think this is for the custom rom. As i did some searching and found that in titanium backup it shows that before i flashed the custom rom it was on xxema1. So that on is the newzealand(vodafone) firnware. Am able to flash to that stock rom and will i lose my factory unlock i if i do?
Use New Zealand stock ROM. It might be your custom ROM build based from latest 4.1.2 Italian firmware
ReplyDeletehi thanks for the fast reply however the new zealand stock roms have only vodafone. and my phone is open to all networks so if i install this rom will it lock my phone or anything?
ReplyDeletewhere is for middle east ?????????
