How to update to T889UVALK8 if your Galaxy Note 2 is already rooted and installed with custom recovery
Thus, advance users that have done some tinkering like rooting and installed any custom recoveries, will having issues into getting this official update. You'll only get update failed errors, for Kies and OTA can read your devices as being modified and ignores you from upgrading. The only way you can update your device to official firmware again is by way of restoring back to T-Mobile original stock ROM or firmware.
There are two options you can choose.
1. Flash the original factory stock ROM T889UVALJ1, so that it will remove the root images or any custom recoveries installed. Then try to update thru OTA or Kies again.
2. Directly install the T889UVALK8 stock ROM update (old download link was gone) Try to find the file here..
