Install Stock 4.3 T999UVUENC2 T-Mobile Galaxy S3 (T999) Firmware (No KitKat Update Yet)

No KitKat update yet but another Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) firmware update and has been released by T-Mobile for the original Samsung Galaxy S3 (SGH-T999). Though there are no exact date scheduled to when the 4.4.2 KitKat will arrive but as T-Mobile already rolled the KitKat update for the Galaxy Note 3 (N900T) and the Galaxy S4 (M919), there is no doubt that this might be the pre-required firmware build for the upcoming KitKat update.  For those who have not yet know that all U.S. Galaxy S3 phones will also going to tastes the said KitKat goodies soon, according to Samsung US announcement last month.

The new 4.3 firmware comes with build number T999UVUENC2 and will replaces the November released 4.3 T999UVUEMJC. There is no other intense features described about this update but as usual this is a software stability update and might also included some other system enhancements and fixes. It is now live and can be downloaded via over-the-air OTA  and or by manually pulling it down using Samsung Kies. Just follow the full documentation from T-Mobile here.

T999UVUENC2 T-Mobile Galaxy S3 update

Below is the original or the official T999UVUENC2 4.3 stock firmware for those who have had rooted their Galaxy S3 T999 phones and cannot get this update through OTA and even Kies, since your device is has root or been modified.

Before proceeding, you must be aware that the 4.3 has  comes with a new bootloader that includes the KNOX security applications. This KNOX apps now comes a built-in ‘KNOX warranty void’ counter in system recovery, meaning once you installed or upgraded to 4.3 firmware you have now a limited access to the new bootloader. The possibility of gaining root access, or installing custom recovery and ROMs will result into tripping this KNOX warranty void counter, from the default count of ’0×0′  to ’0×1′. Risk of soft-bricking your device may also occurs when you try to restore back to the previous 4.1.2 T999UVDMD5, for its also interacts the new protected bootloader.

Again, this process is only for those who got the original T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 (SGH-T999) not the 3G/4G LTE (SGH-T999L) and currently runs in unofficial firmware or with root installed and wants to restore back to official firmware. Typical users who did not touch their phone OS and currently runs with official firmware build 4.3 T999UVUEMJC, you must only update via OTA or Kies. This method is called manual flashing, just an option if Kies and OTA already blocks your devices from updating, something like it just says “This device is modified and not supported by Kies” or “software update failed” on OTA update.

Just follow this guide and manually install it, this will not trip the binary flash counter and wipe all stored data. But backup all important files first. This is for safety precautions and usually doesn’t delete the files during the process, in-case if you run into problems and you may be forced to perform factory reset. Re-setting the phone will delete all data.
Disclaimer: We shall not be held responsible if anything happens to your device by following this guide. Proceed at your own risk. This procedure is for advance users only, typical users may only upgrade only thru Kies or via OTA and may not use this method.

- Back up all important files before proceeding. Although the Internal memory and microSD card are both left alone during after the flash process for this firmware is a non wipe version. But all your settings and configuration will all be reset. So, be sure to have a back up all of it for safety.
- If your device currently runs with any custom ROM, you may ask any assistance first from your ROM developer on how to safely return back to official stock to get rid of any issues. Mostly devs advises you to perform Full Back-Up via CWM/TWRP recovery and perform Wipe Data/Dalvik cache before performing Odin back to stock.
- Fully recharge your phone’s battery.
