However, these updates are all still based in Android 4.4.2 KitKat, and it did not move to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, that someone might have been still hoping for.

While looking at the build details itself, it looks very similar to the last released build version N7100XXUFNE1 way back in 2014 (Yup, that's has been years ago). Excepts for the Build number itself, while the rest including the kernel and baseband version are identical.
Also I have some doubts about the primary intentions of these updates. It might be particularly about the implementation of the Android security patches, or it might be some other way, like locking the bootloader system of which prevents from users into rooting and further customization.
Well, I don't know yet. But if you would like to check it out and learn about the new stuff of the said updates, you can simply update your device at your own free will.

These are for those who have rooted or modified Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100 and may want to restore back and manually update, just grab the stock firmware. Then simply re-root again if you want to.

But for those who haven’t modified their phones, you folks can simply update either via Over-The-Air OTA or by using Samsung Smart Switch for PC. For checking an update, just head on to your device settings. From Home screen > tap Apps > About device > Check for updates. However, if you prepared using Smart Switch for PC, you may also simply head to Samsung’s support page to grab the said tools.
